The month of March

The whole month we have prepared for our first Discipleship Training School which was started on the 2nd of April.  This means more cleaning and more organizing. :). . . I know most of my news from here has been a lot of cleaning and organizing, but you'd be surprise how much that fills up my days.  Yet there is a really cool story I would like to share.

Story of the month
As part of role in the upcoming DTS was to find out what are some local outreaches that we could be apart of. So that once a week we could take the students on some street evangelism.  I had been praying a lot about this and asking God what are some ministries or places we could go to connect into.  Well through some people I meet so far the was mention of a cafe in the city of Hobart that was open on Fridays 10am -10pm, which had free coffee, and food all day.  I was so excited to hear about this ministry that I asked a couple other staff to join me that Friday for a little trip into the city.  As we arrived in the cafe that was filled with beautiful pieces of art, a stage for playing music, and comfy lounge sitting I know that God wanted to us this place to bring His love to the city to Hobart.  As I meet with the lady started the cafe, I become more and more excited. She shared her vision how God asked her to open up a cafe, at the start of 2012, in the heart of the city, and told her that He would send the poor and needed to her.  She said a lot of people have walked past, but not very many of come inside.  She was asking God for how where the poor and needy going to start coming to the cafe and if she should go out and get them.  God spoke to her and told her that she would have a team of people come around her.  As she shared this, I knew in my heart that God had lead us together, to work together.   So I shared about YWAM and our heart for mercy ministries, and for Evangelism.  Together we worked out that every Friday our team would come and start at the cafe with prayer and worship, then go out into the streets and invite people back to the cafe for free coffee and cake.  The whole thing was God lead, and it was so cool to see the connection.  Also the area of the city that the cafe is in has a lot of "working ladies" (this means prostitutes but I don't use that word normally I feel like it doesn't show them respect).  So I am able to connect with them and hopefully start making some good relationships for the ministry God has lead me to start here in Hobart.   I am so excited for the months ahead and seeing how God will use us to reach the people of Tassie.

Little snap shot into April...
I believe so much for what God is doing and am so excited to be apart of it :).
Well as I have explained the DTS started up on the 2nd.
The Easter weekend that just past we had an amazing time camping together staff and students. There are five students and about 5 to 7 staff helping out with the school with different aspects.  It was a great bonding time together and I really look forward to seeing what God is going to do in these next three 6 months.

I will have more stories to come so stay tuned.

If you would like to pray it would be greatly appreciated

     -   Please pray for continue financial and spiritual support.
     -   Please pray for covering over the students and staff for these next couple of months God is going to bring up a lot of stuff during lectures each week.
     -   Please pray for the growth of this year and that God would send more helpers, because the harvest is ready but the workers are few.

Once again thank you for your love and support. :)

Lots of hugs and love
Jess

Get the truth

This movie is real, and it's just the beginning of getting the reality about Human Trafficking out there to a world that chooses to be blinded to the TRUTH

First Month in Tassie

With blessing to myFamily

My first month in Tasmania, Australia . . . Highlights . . .

One thing I love is our prayer and worship times we have daily. We often walk up to the top of our beautiful property of 200 acres that over looks the town of Sorell and can even see the the city of Hobart in the distances. We have amazing times of meeting with God and worshipping Him together.  God would often speak to us as He leads us into powerful times of intercession. These moments God often speaks to me of His love for me personally and for the vision He has placed on my heart.

Another thing that I have been doing this last month was helping the base host an elders meeting we had for one week. With only 7 staff, we worked hard to cook, clean, and bless 20 of the YWAM elders who come from Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia. I worked hard in Hospitality. I was in-charge of morning and afternoon tea times, as well as helping baby sitting three little ones. It was a busy week, starting my days at 6am and knocking off to bed around 10pm. It was one my favorite weeks so far, because I love to serve the elders and I greatly enjoy doing hospitality.

The base has 11 members, this including two children. We have four houses and one building we use as a class room. I have been put in-charge of hospitality for the entire base, as well as being the base directors Personal Assistance, as well as helping in registration for paper work for the students. Yet with all these jobs to do on base, our main goal and focus is making connections in the community. Planting seeds for good relationships, and meeting with the local Christians to come along side them and work in the ministries that have been established, as well as getting Gods heart and vision for all of this.

Some Testimonies
I just received my first monthly payment from my supports, and with everyone pitching in where they could I received $630USD which is about $588AUD.  This helps with me pay off my first month being here completely, which was $521, it also helps pay for my phone which is $30 a month, and the rest is for personal items like toiletries.  It was just the right amount.  What a blessing.
I also have been blessed with a nice new bed, and wardrobe for free.  My roommate and I are wanting to do some decorating and painting, so we are praying in what is needed to do that. I am sure there will be more testimonies to come from that.
With all the staff we have seen many miracles this last months and we are super thankful and grateful that the Lord is with us, guiding us the whole way. :)

Prayer Points.
- Please pray for this next month as we are in a time of prayer and fasting for God's vision for us personally and corporately.  We are also running a DTS (Discipleship Training School) on the 2nd of April, and would like to see at least 20 students, currently have 1 student who has applied.
-Please pray for wisdom and protection of our team.
-Please pray the strength emotionally and physically to do all that the Lord has for me and my team in this month to come.

As always thank you for taking the time to read through my updates, and please let me know if there are prayers or testimonies you would like to share with me in return.

Many blessings

God's Blessings

Well I am currently sitting in the domestic terminal in Sydney waiting for my last flight to Hobart. I thought it would be a good time to update the blog.

Well I first must say what a blessing it was the last two months I had in Oregon. I was able to connect with family which I love so much, and some amazing friends as well. I was able to become tax deductable which is such a blessing as a full time Missionary.   As well as I was able to speak at two churches, and a bible study.  God helped me to make some amazing connections, and I was so blessed because of different people capturing the heart of what God has for me, and believing in me.
As I sit here waiting for my connecting flight to my new home in Hobart, I think back on all the blessings God has given me over the past years.
1st blessing - What an amazing family He has blessed me with, and I am so thankful they are in my life, fully supporting me in every way.  I feel so loved, and so blessed.  God is constantly looking out for me.  Pics of my family just to honor them and let you know how much they mean to me.

(My Parents. . .Aww so cute)

My Older sister Tracey along with her husband (Tim) and six kids (Russell, Rochelle, Caleb, Katie, Gideon, Elias) (The older three are married :)

My Brother John along with his wife (Tiffiny) and four beautiful kids (Jacob, Benjamin, Taylor, and Gabriel)

My Sister Tamara and her husband (Scott) with there two kids (Maya and William)

2nd Blessings - God also blessed me with His constant provision in finances (He has paid for this whole trip through some amazing people in my life, I know they will be blessed because of it), as well as spiritual growth (which I am always learning and growing in) also bringing me into a better place emotionally and physically.

3rd Blessing- He is constantly watching out for me.  There is a very recent story for this one.  I was connecting to my Flight from L.A. to Sydney and I ran into a friend in Y.W.A.M who is heading off to Brisbane YWAM.  We said hi, and chatted, its nice to meet someone you know while traveling.  Well as we were going through Customs in Sydney I dropped my Passport between transition to the domestic terminal.  I didn't realize at first that I had lost my passport, yet as soon I needed it to show to a ticket lady, I realized I didn't have it, I started to freak out and turned around and there was my friend who was also connecting flights and found my passport on the ground.  She said she tripped on it, and thought it was hers because it was an american passport, she picked it up and realized it was mine and prayed that we would run into each other again before I realized it was gone.  Well as soon as I realized it was gone she was there.  WOW what a God thing, I could have kicked myself for being so stupid for dropping my passport, but at the same time, God was watching out for me, and not only had someone find it, but also my friend who knew me.  WOW God's grace and love reaches through all the big and small things in our lives.

I am excited to see what this new home has as well as all the things God is doing in Tasmania.  God is faithful through all the big and small.

Holding Hope

Hold on to Hope. . . What a journey it is.  For me personally, I am always learning and growing in my relationship with God.  Its been really hard at times, but in the middle of those hard times, where life is just crap (or other colorful words I won't mention) I know I still have that Hope.  God is so faithful to meet me where I am at.  He gives me hope when there seems to be no hope at all.  I love the fact that every day I keep stepping into that hope and that hope keeps holding on to me.  God never lets me go, I might let Him go and push Him away, but He is still there loving me and wanting to hold me in His arms of hope again and again.  Its a beautiful thing this Hope.
